Kurobara Camellia Knife Maintenance Oil — 100 mL
$16.00
Carbon steel rewards a little attention, especially before storage. Kurobara’s camellia knife oil leaves a thin protective film on the blade to help prevent rust between uses.
Made in Japan, this maintenance oil blends mineral oil with camellia seed oil. It’s odourless and non-drying, so it remains an oil coating rather than curing into a hard film. A small amount spread over a clean, thoroughly dry blade is all you need.
It’s particularly useful for knives that don’t see daily use, or for putting a favourite carbon steel blade away for a while. It can also be used sparingly on unfinished wooden handles. The 100 mL bottle provides plenty for repeated light applications.
Volume: 100 mL
Origin: Japan
Type: Mineral oil and camellia seed oil maintenance blend
Use: Blade protection, lubrication, and rust prevention
In Use: Wash and thoroughly dry the blade. Apply a small amount of oil to a soft cloth, then spread a thin, even coating over both faces of the blade. Wipe away excess. Before preparing food with the knife again, wash the blade with mild dish soap, rinse, and dry.
For unfinished wooden handles, rub in a small amount, allow it to absorb briefly, and wipe away excess thoroughly so the handle isn’t slippery.
Care: Keep the bottle closed between uses. Apply oil after cleaning and drying; it helps protect the blade during storage but doesn’t replace those everyday habits.
